Workforce Housing Advisory Committee to hold meeting |
The Town of Mount Pleasant Workforce Housing Advisory Committee invites residents, property owners, homeowners & property owners associations, nonprofit organizations, developers, builders, real estate professionals, and all other interested parties to a
Special Workforce Housing Advisory Committee Meeting
Monday, 9 November 2009
at 6 pm in Council Chambers
at the Mount Pleasant Municipal Complex
The Committee and Town staff will present information and answer questions regarding two recently adopted Town ordinances pertaining to Accessory Dwelling Units and Workforce Housing Planned Developments.
Construction of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) will be permitted in the Town of Mount Pleasant in March 2010 in most residential zoning districts (unless prohibited by neighborhood covenants). A brief presentation will address the requirements for ADUs, including size and height restrictions, parking and occupancy requirements, and the timeframe for implementation. The presentation will also cover the new Planned Development – Workforce Housing zoning district, which incentivizes the construction of affordable housing by providing a density bonus and flexible development standards.
